Summary
Groovix keeps your data on your phone. We don't sell, rent or share your personal information, and we don't run ads.
Information stored on your device
- The display name and optional photo you choose in the app.
- Your preferences (genres, artists, language, audio quality, equalizer, lyrics sources).
- Listening history, liked songs, search history and downloaded songs, used to build recommendations and your Replay.
This information stays in the app's storage on your device. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes it.
Google sign-in and YouTube data
Signing in with Google is optional. If you sign in, Groovix asks for read-only access to your YouTube account (the youtube.readonly scope) and uses it only to:
- show your YouTube playlists and liked videos inside the app;
- use your subscriptions to tailor recommendations.
Groovix does not change anything in your YouTube or Google account, does not post on your behalf, and does not send your YouTube data to our servers. The data is fetched directly from Google to your device and kept there.
Groovix's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Groovix uses YouTube API Services; by signing in you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
You can revoke Groovix's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions, or by signing out in the app. Signing out removes the stored token and the YouTube data from the app.
Listen together
When you start or join a listening party, your display name, the party code and what is playing are shared with the other people in that party so playback stays in sync. This data is removed when the party ends.
Third-party services
To find and play music and lyrics, the app sends search terms and song details (title, artist, duration) to music catalogue and lyrics providers. These requests do not include your name, Google account or YouTube data.
Children
Groovix isn't directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
